No matter what your life view, there is a unique quality and sense of place that Taos and Northern New Mexico has that distinguishes it from anyplace you may have visited.
Whether you are seeking answers to the age-old questions, want to experience expressions of art and faith created by others, or long to explore our culture and relax in a gorgeous off-the-beaten path locale, Taos is a place where you can reconnect with your authentic self through various routes.
Explore your inner artist. Find your inner mystic. Explore a labyrinth during the full moon. Reconnect with creativity in a way that promises to bond us all together – no matter where you come from, or where you've been. Taos is a place of inner healing and of bringing us in touch with our authentic selves. Taos is a place of experiences.
Take a workshop. Go on a tour to learn about the deep history that dwells on every street. Drink deeply from the wisdom that springs from this magical location. This is one place you can “return to sacred places” and feel renewed.

About
Teodoro Morca will hold the 26th All-Flamenco Workshop Fiesta in the beautiful Mountains of Taos, New Mexico, August 2-7 2010. Morca was honored by the National Endowment for the Arts, Dance Magazine, and most recently a Distinguished Honoree “Dance Teacher Award” for 2009 by Dance Teacher Magazine. This past June he headlined in the Tamara Saj Flamenco and Baile Español Production Generaciones, a series of vignettes that demonstrated the storytelling art of flamenco as it passes from one generation to the next.
Teo Morca has enjoyed a long and successful career in dance internationally for over 60 years. He was guest flamenco artist and choreographer with Pilar Lopez, touring throughout Spain, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Italy. He was featured flamenco dancer at the Cafe de Chinitas in Madrid with La Chunga and taught at the famed Amor de Dios in Madrid. Morca’s approach to dance throughout his lifetime has been deeply aligned with his approach to life, his treatment of every gesture sacred: “My philosophy is that dance is dance and each form is but one facet of the whole beautiful jewel of dance. If there is any message at all, it is one of human communication, not only of feeling but of all the senses. It is to experience the all important "duende" or inner spirit or soul; the emotion in motion between artist and audience.” Maestro Morca currently resides in Taos, New Mexico, where he serves as Artistic Director of the Taos Academy of Dance Arts.
In 1975 Teodoro Morca gave the very first all-flamenco workshop festival in the United States. This continued each year for 24 years through 1999 in Bellingham, Washington in his 100 year old Church Studio called Morca Academy of Performing Arts. This was the beginning of an innovative approach to learning flamenco dance, with a full warm-up and conditioning session, separate technique classes, separate repertoire classes, lectures, discussions and movies on all facets of flamenco, plus, all classes with live guitarists and repertoire classes with singing accompaniment.
Maestro Morca continues this years-long tradition at the Taos Academy of Dance Arts this August 2-7, 2010. This not-to-be missed flamenco workshop will feature guest artists Adair Landborn with beginner level flamenco, and Marija Temo, cante and guitar accompaniment.

- RR will pick you up and take you to your favorite Historic District Restaurant, and when you’re ready…will pick you up for an after dinner ride. Starting At $10.
The term rickshaw originates from the Japanese word Jinnrikisha, which means “human powered vehicle”. They are two wheeled carts seating one or two people and are pulled by a single runner (or bicyclist in the case of Taos’). The new term is “pedicabs” – and they’re so “green”!

Beginning June 25th
Location: Taos
About
"Art camps" will run at various times througout the summer, beginning June 25th and 26th with a 3rd day optional on the 27th. The fee is $120 per day, which includes all materials and a salad lunch on the portal facing Taos Mountain. We will explore collage techniques with acrylic paint, using a variety of other materials such as metal leaf, photo transfers, plaster and found objects. As always the main ingredient is imaginative play, so prepare to envelope yourself in the timeless and joyful space of art-making.
A second session is planned for August 20th and 21st with the 3rd day option on the 22nd. Enroll soon as space is limited to 6 students only, and the first class has 2 already! A deposit of $50 will secure your reservation. Send it to J. Fullerton, P.O. Box 1195, Toas, NM 87571, or call me at the contact information below. In addition to these classes Joan is teaching a 4 day, traditional watercolor class for Taos Art Experiences on July12th-16th see: www.taosartexperiences.com. In this class Joan will demonstrate and instruct on composition and technique for all levels of watercolor painters.
Other opportunities for instruction include Joan's painting demonstration at Millicent Rodgers Museum in Taos on August 28th from 1-4, (during the Taos National Society of Watercolorists Exhibition). And if you are interesting in private painting lessons please contact me for available times.
